RetroDisk Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 21, 2026
Last Updated: August 24, 2026
1. Introduction
RetroDisk is a utility for transferring a user-selected file directly between two iPhones through optical codes shown on their screens.
2. Summary
RetroDisk does not require an account and does not include ads, analytics, tracking services, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
RetroDisk does not operate a developer-controlled server for storing or transferring files.
3. Information RetroDisk Does Not Collect
RetroDisk does not collect identity, account, advertising, analytics, tracking, precise-location, contacts, or usage-profile data.
4. Selected Files
Files are selected by the user for a direct device-to-device transfer. The developer does not receive, store, or remotely access transferred files.
5. Camera Access
RetroDisk uses each receiving camera to read optical transfer codes shown on the other iPhone screen. Camera images are processed only to complete the transfer and are not uploaded to a developer-operated server.
6. File Integrity
RetroDisk uses SHA-256 to verify that the received file matches the transmitted data. This verification does not conceal or encrypt file content.
7. Local Storage
A received file is saved only when the user chooses a destination through the system interface. Storage-provider terms apply if the user chooses an external provider.
8. No Account Required
RetroDisk does not require registration, login, or a user profile.
9. Email Support
If you contact support, the information you include is used only to respond to the request. Avoid sending private file contents unless necessary.
10. Data Sharing
RetroDisk does not sell personal information or share information for advertising, analytics, or tracking.
11. Children’s Privacy
RetroDisk does not knowingly collect personal information from children and does not use advertising or tracking services.
12. Security
Security depends on the devices, passcodes, operating systems, selected save locations, and storage providers used by the user.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This policy may be updated if RetroDisk changes how information is handled. The effective and last-updated dates appear above.
