Emergency Optical File Transfer

No connection? Pass the file anyway.

Two iPhones. Screens facing each other.

RetroDisk transfers a user-selected file directly between two iPhones through changing optical codes shown on their screens. No internet connection, Bluetooth, AirDrop, local network, cable, account, or external server is required.

Built for Small Emergency Files

RetroDisk supports files up to 1.44 MB. It is designed for compact documents and other small files when ordinary transfer methods are unavailable.

How It Works

  1. Open RetroDisk on two iPhones.
  2. Choose Send File on one device and Receive File on the other.
  3. Select a file on the sending iPhone.
  4. Hold both screens facing each other while the optical transfer progresses.
  5. Save the verified file on the receiving iPhone.
