About RetroFind
RetroFind is a paid, lightweight, offline AR parking-route app for iPhone. It is designed for underground parking garages and other places where GPS may be unavailable or unreliable.
RetroFind has no ads, account, subscription, in-app purchases, analytics, or developer-operated cloud storage.
Common Support Topics
1. Record a Parking Route
Tap Park My Car, point the rear camera at your vehicle, and capture it. Keeping a nearby pillar, sign, or fixed feature in view can make the visual reference more useful.
Walk toward a recognizable elevator, exit, sign, or pillar while keeping the rear camera unobstructed.
At the endpoint, point the camera at a distinctive fixed feature and tap Capture Elevator and Finish.
2. Find Your Car
Return near the saved endpoint and tap Find My Car. RetroFind displays the endpoint photo as a translucent visual reference over the live camera view.
Look around slowly while RetroFind automatically confirms your position. When the green route appears, follow it back to your vehicle.
3. Improve AR Relocalization
Use a visually distinctive endpoint with stable lighting. Avoid plain walls, covered camera lenses, rapid device movement, and major environmental or lighting changes.
4. Replace the Current Vehicle
RetroFind keeps one completed vehicle location. Completing a new route replaces the previous route. If you leave before completing the endpoint, the previous saved route remains unchanged.
5. Clear the Current Vehicle
Open Settings and choose Clear Current Car Location. This deletes the current vehicle photo, endpoint photo, route points, and saved spatial map from the device.
6. Supported Devices
RetroFind requires an ARKit-compatible iPhone running the supported iOS version. The full AR experience is not available in the iOS Simulator.
7. Permissions
Camera and motion permissions are required for route recording, spatial mapping, and AR navigation. RetroFind does not use GPS.
8. Privacy
Parking photos, route points, and spatial-map information remain in the app’s local container. RetroFind does not upload this information to a developer-operated server.
